The journey of birth is much more than a mother physically birthing her baby. Because she is a multifaceted being, her physical, mental, and emotional bodies play a role in the process of birth.
Autumn is a CAPPA-trained Labor Doula and Childbirth Educator.
Through the empowering experience of natural childbirth, Autumn strengthened her connection to her children and stepped more fully into her own personal power. She now supports other women and their families through the journey of pregnancy and childbirth by sharing the tools of visualization and meditation, chanting and vocalizing positive affirmations, and using movement and other tools to ease the sensations of labor.
The psyche can be a tool of immeasurable value or a great obstacle to overcome. One’s attitude about birth, beliefs about the process, and sense of safety are so important. It is helpful to illuminate these attitudes before birth begins to help create the best environment for Baby to be birthed.
Autumn’s intention is to connect with each birthing mother and her birthing partner(s) to forge a relationship based on respect and understanding, so that as their Doula she can advocate for the birth experience the mother desires, whether that is at home, in a birthing center, or in a hospital setting. Autumn believes the best way to get Baby out is the same as what got Baby in…feelings of trust, intimacy, and as much privacy as possible. This warm and safe environment is what the Doula strives to create along with the mother for her family.
The word Doula originally meant "woman's servant". Think of the Doula’s role in these terms, to S.E.R.V.E.:
Autumn’s Labor Doula services include:
Two pre-natal visits during pregnancy,
Full availability and service throughout the journey of labor and childbirth through 1-2 hours after birth, and
One post-partum visit, one to three weeks after birth.
POST-PARTUM DOULA SERVICES:

She can provide breastfeeding support, light household maintenance, family nurturing and instruction to mom and/or other family members in the care of a newborn. Autumn’s intention is to make the transition to parenthood easier for new parents, to help mom during her recovery period and to ascertain what the family needs help with and meet their needs.
Labor and Post-partum Doulas do not offer any medical advice or perform any medical or clinical procedures, but instead can offer parents referrals to appropriate studies and published books.
