Marriage, Peru, and More . . .

Hello All,

We thank everyone so much for all of your support keeping Lodge of the People alive, as we have always believed that the Spirit of the Lodge is through community. Because we have been off-grid for a while, here is a little recap of what has been going on:

MARRIAGE

On October 29th, 2016, we (Autumn and Daniel) FINALLY got married! We have always been deeply in love and were overjoyed to share our legal union with friends and family.

The wedding took place at Hollis Renewal Center in Kansas City, KS and was officiated by our spiritual fathers and mentors don Daniel Baxley and Lee "Stumbling Deer" Slusher (pictured above). They provided a ceremony that blended both Native Peruvian and Native American traditions inside of a medicine wheel of our own making. At the end, our children wrapped us in a union blanket for a kiss (see their reaction? Priceless!). We also had a reception of well-over a hundred people, eating, dancing, and having a grand ol' time!

HONEYMOON: PERU

Soon after, we made our way to our spiritual homeland, Peru, for 10 days! We both can attest that our time in Peru was magical, surreal, and the most profound experience of our lives. We still haven't quite been able to process the experience and put it into words, but when we do we plan on having a get-together where we share pictures and speak of our adventures. We also have some workshops in the planning, based upon the extra knowledge we accumulated from the ancients. A big THANK YOU to all of you who supported our funds for being able to make the trip. We could not have done it without you!

DECEMBER: EXTREME HIGHS AND LOWS

Upon returning from Peru we have undergone a tumult of change that have kept us largely out of touch (soon to be remedied). In early December, Autumn's father, William "Bill" Paige, transitioned unexpectedly into the Unseen. Bill was a beloved father, grandfather, and husband and his sudden loss has made a major impact on the family. So, much of our time has been spent in support of family and each other. Here's to you, Bill! Thank you for bringing Autumn into the world! You did good, you did REAL good!

During that time, we also experienced one of the greatest honors ever bestowed to us. The Heartland Ayllu is the local chapter of the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition, the Peruvian shamanic tradition of which we are sanctioned by don Oscar Miro-Quesada as teachers. On the Winter Solstice, our local Heartland Ayllu elders, don Daniel and dona Karrie Marie Baxley, transferred leadership of their medicine practice and of the Heartland Ayllu to us! It was a such moving, heart-felt transition and we bow in deep gratitude for all of the love and service our teachers have brought to the community and, in effect, the world. We will never be able to live up to their impeccable stewardship and will always draw upon their legacy for inspiration. Thank you, Daniel and Karrie Marie!!!

THE FUTURE

Stay tuned! We have so many offerings in the works coming up in 2017, including another Pachkuti Mesa Tradition Apprenticeship as well as advanced Mesa material. We look forward to being of service to the community! Thank you, everyone! Blessings!
